2016 Canon Fronsac
Château Moulin

Grégoire and Bénédicte Hubau
A few miles west of Pomerol and just above the Dordogne River on Bordeaux’s right bank lie the vineyards of Grégoire and Bénédicte Hubau. Unlike this mostly flat part of France dominated by terroirs of clay and gravel, the Hubaus’ vines are planted along limestone slopes. When you view them from their home (“château”) at the top of the hill, you will immediately understand that this is a site for great wine. In addition to the noteworthy terroir, the Hubaus’ Canon Fronsacs stand out for their vibrance and freshness. Imagine the avant-garde farmers typically found in the Loire or Beaujolais transposed onto a Bordeaux landscape, and you have the Hubau family.
In this bottling, Bénédicte and Grégoire show the exuberant side of Canon Fronsac. With its brambly fruit and velvety tannins, all you need to enjoy this wine is the company of good friends and a belly full of cassoulet or barbecue. This hearty, yet refined Right Bank beauty is a snapshot of its makers—unusual, salt-of-the-earth artisans—mixed with the spirit of the southwest: generous, rugged, and easy to fall for.

About The Region
Bordeaux
Often considered the wine capital of the world, Bordeaux and its wines have captured the minds, hearts, and wallets of wine drinkers for centuries. For many, the wines provide an inalienable benchmark against which all other wines are measured.
Bordeaux is divided into three winegrowing regions with the city that gives the region its name in the near geographical center. The “right bank,” or the area located east of the Dordogne River, produces wines that are predominantly Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The “left bank” is located to the west of the Garonne River and produces wines dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot.
The third region, Entre-Deux-Mers, lies between both rivers and produces white wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. Though technically in the left bank, it is worth noting the appellation of Sauternes, which produces arguably the world’s most famous sweet wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle as well.
Though many top Bordeaux wines are sold en primeur (in advance of their bottling) and often through a middleman known as a negoçiant, Kermit has always preferred to purchase directly from the winemaker. For more than three decades he has sought out small producers, who make classic Bordeaux wines and are willing to play outside the negoçiant system. This ethic has led to longstanding relationships, excellent prices, and perhaps most important—wines of great value and longevity.

Promo Code Terms
There are two types of promo codes
1) a code that gives you a percentage off your order
2) a code that gives you a dollar amount off your order
How do promo codes or coupon codes work?
When you place an order with a percentage coupon code, the discount only applies to discount eligible items. An eligible item typically is a product that does not already have a discount. Sampler packs that already have discounts applied to them do not count towards the minimum of 12 eligible items. In your shopping cart, you'll see percentage discounts next to each bottle.
When you place an order with a dollar amount code, the dollar amount is added to your discount. In your shopping cart, the dollar amount is subtracted from your total, and does not show next to each bottle.
