A luscious French Alps sparkler with fine mousse and lemon curd, brioche, and gardenia aromatics. The main grape here is Molette, an obscure variety native to Savoie that was nearly wiped out by the phylloxera epidemic of the nineteenth century—only around 20 hectares remain.

2022 Vin de France Blanc “Perle de Gamay” • Nicole Chanrion $24
Beaujolais of a different color, but not a different grape! Nicole’s son Romain makes this 100% Gamay in the direct-press method, resulting in a dry white that’s both generous and refreshing. Each sniff invites another, thrumming with orange blossom, lemon balm, and quince.

2022 Südtirol Eisacktaler Kerner • Manni Nössing $30
Here we have a German-born grape—a hybrid of Riesling and Trollinger— grown in the shadow of the breathtaking Italian Dolomites. Manni’s masterful take on Kerner is boldly mineral and as crystalline as an alpine brook, with soaring orchard fruit aromatics and a cleansing finish.

2021 Val de Loire Blanc “Cirrus” •  Eric Chevalier $32
Éric is our only grower cultivating Fié Gris, an ancestor to Sauvignon Blanc that nearly went extinct. He vinifies his on the skins, resulting in a vivid expression of the grape—a cornucopia of dried fruits and herbs, a touch of spice, and lush layers of complexity.

2022 Chasselas • Albert Boxler $36
The Boxler clan emigrated from Switzerland to Alsace four centuries ago, so it is only natural they’d produce such a classic example of this Swiss variety. Jean’s Chasselas is a crisp and structured showstopper, teeming with fresh grapefruit, wet stone, and honeycomb.

2023 Valle d’Aosta Bianco Petite Arvine • Château Feuillet $37
Nicknamed “grape of the glaciers,” Petite Arvine is a high-altitude variety that clings solely to the mountainous terrain of the Valais region in Switzerland and Italy’s Valle d’Aosta. Château Feuillet’s bottling brims with zesty citrus notes and bracing, palate-tingling minerality.

2022 Coteaux du Loir Rouge “Cuvée du Rosier” • Pascal Janvier $23
One of the Loire’s rarest grapes, Pineau d’Aunis was once nearly wiped out in favor of easier-to-grow, higher-yielding varieties. It drinks like young Pinot Noir—bright strawberry and sour cherry notes with a peppery, lip-smacking finish. Serve chilled, as you would a Beaujolais.

2020 Vittoria Frappato • Portelli $23
Speaking of Beaujolais, this indigenous Sicilian grape could give Gamay a run for its money. Often blended with Nero d’Avola to make Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Portelli’s pure Frappato spotlights the grape’s best qualities: lithe, juicy, redolent of crushed raspberries and forest floor.

2022 Lacrima di Morro d’Alba •  Colleleva $25
Native to Le Marche, the Lacrima grape thrives on hillsides surrounding the town of Morro d’Alba—nowhere else. This rare heirloom variety yields silken reds with floral overtones. Colleleva’s is as ambrosial as they come, with notes of violet, pomegranate, and wild mint.

2021 Savoie Chignin Mondeuse “Vieilles Vignes” • A et M Quenard $30
The vast majority of wine production in Savoie is white, but the reds are well worth hunting for. Our sole cultivators of Mondeuse, the Quenards tend this ancient variety on steep slopes a stone’s throw from Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva. It is bright and berry-laden with savory olive undertones.

2020 Alghero Cagnulari Rosso “Arsenale” • Vigne Rada $36
Known for producing brooding, full-bodied reds, Cagnulari has been cultivated in Sardinia for centuries. Vigne Rada’s 2020 breaks that mold: delicate in structure with soft, velvety tannins that caress the palate, lifted by the fresh herbal aromatics signature to this cuvée.

2018 Venezia Giulia Terrano • Kante $38
Pliny the Elder once wrote of a Karst wine rich in therapeutic properties. Many believe that ancient elixir was Terrano, which is native to the Karst Plateau bordering Italy and Slovenia. The 2018 from Kante is a tango of fruit and spice evoking balsamic-glazed berries, anise, and fine cocoa.
