2018 Savigny-lès-Jarrons 1er Cru
Domaine Pierre GuillemotSome growers of Les Jarrons, including Guillemot, farm a portion of this eight-hectare lieu-dit known as La Dominode, a name that indicates the plots once belonged to a local lord. As you can imagine, lords liked to keep the very best plots to themselves, and this is one of the village’s best sites. Out of all their premier cru bottlings, Les Jarrons is the domaine’s most tangy and supple, bursting with that juicy griotte (sour cherry) quality we love about Savigny, and have come to expect from Guillemot’s most elegant, time-honored style of Pinot.

2020 Rully Rouge 1er Cru “Les Champs Cloux”
France | Burgundy
Les Champs Cloux fresh, with good acidity, but also among the domaine’s more robust reds.
2020 Aloxe-Corton
France | Burgundy
The Follin family’s reds are some of the most delicious I have tasted, none more so than their incredibly vibrant and pure Aloxe-Corton.
2020 Marsannay Blanc “Clos du Roy”
France | Burgundy
I find the Clos du Roy blanc to be quite versatile at my house in Meursault, especially with fowl, pork, and veal.
2022 Chablis 1er Cru “Beauroy”
France | Burgundy
The premier cru Beauroy is a round, ample expression of Chablis from a south-facing parcel. Silky and suave on the palate, it finishes with a whisper of salinity.
2019 Vin de France “Grenache Noir”
France | Burgundy
The result is a red with a light touch and bright aromatics, yet still with a hint of southern French sun. Best chilled.
2022 Chablis 1er Cru ”Butteaux”
France | Burgundy
There is no mistaking it—one taste and you are in Chablis territory: zesty minerality, wet stone, freshness and nervosity.
2011 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru “La Genelotte”
France | Burgundy
The vintage, austere and tense in its youth, has matured into the best a perfectly aged Meursault can offer.
2022 Bourgogne Rouge
France | Burgundy
This wine embodies the qualities that enchant and thrill us most about red Burgundy.
2020 Volnay 1er Cru “Les Caillerets”
Domaine Lucien Boillot et Fils
France | Burgundy
This Caillerets features a stony, savory undercurrent, above which float gorgeous notes of strawberries and plums.
2022 Petit Chablis
France | Burgundy
With a delectable combination of fresh fruit and oyster-shell aromatics, this remains Lavantureux’s benchmark for value and typicity.

About The Region
Burgundy
In eastern central France, Burgundy is nestled between the wine regions of Champagne to the north, the Jura to the east, the Loire to the west, and the Rhône to the south. This is the terroir par excellence for producing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The southeast-facing hillside between Dijon in the north and Maranges in the south is known as the Côte d’Or or “golden slope.” The Côte d’Or comprises two main sections, both composed of limestone and clay soils: the Côte de Nuits in the northern sector, and the Côte de Beaune in the south. Both areas produce magnificent whites and reds, although the Côte de Beaune produces more white wine and the Côte de Nuits more red.
Chablis is Burgundy’s northern outpost, known for its flinty and age-worthy Chardonnays planted in Kimmeridgian limestone on an ancient seabed. Vézelay is a smaller area south of Chablis with similar qualities, although the limestone there is not Kimmeridgian.
To the south of the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise extends from Chagny on its northern end, down past Chalon-sur-Saône and encompasses the appellations of Bouzeron in the north, followed by Rully, Mercurey, Givry, and Montagny.
Directly south of the Chalonnaise begins the Côte Mâconnais, which extends south past Mâcon to the hamlets of Fuissé, Vinzelles, Chaintré, and Saint-Véran. The Mâconnais is prime Chardonnay country and contains an incredible diversity of soils.
